vespine gallery tonight

I have a new piece in Vespine Gallery's last exhibition, Retrospect. There is a farewell party and reception tonight from 7 - 10 pm.

One of the new diptychs will be in a show at Woman Made Gallery. Family Album opens November 20, 6-9 pm.

So I have been thinking a lot lately about how to present this recent work about home. Originally (and perhaps still), I thought small groupings of different sized images would be the best way. I like the idea of referencing the way in which we display family images in the home but having the content of the work be quite different. Then I thought diptychs might also be a way to create dialog between images, so I put a few together. I am happy with how they are working out. I enjoy the mini-dramas that I can create this way.
